Search for Ahlawat continues
The police teams on Sunday searched former inspector general of police M.S. Ahlawat, facing a case of alleged molestation of a woman lawyer in Uttar Pradesh and also in Haryana.
“We haven’t succeeded in tracing him so far. Our teams had earlier searched for him in parts of Haryana and Delhi and some places in UP. Today also, they continued to vigorously search for him in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana,” a police official said here.
Mr Ahlawat’s anticipatory bail was recently dismissed by a Yamunanagar court in a case of alleged molestation of a woman lawyer eight years ago, after which the police issued lookout notice and alerted airports against him to prevent him from fleeing the country.

WWII US fighter plane discovered
Itanagar : Wreckage of another US fighter plane missing in action since World War-II was recovered by an amateur trekker from a dense forest in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, officials said on Sunday.
Parts of the wreckage, a bullet, a metal plate with words “Black Hawk” inscribed on it and some human bone parts were received from a villager of Chayang Tajo circle, deputy commissioner of the district T. Bam said.
The young villager claimed that he spotted the wreckage, strewn over several places, in a dense forest amidst towering mountain ranges where he reached after trekking for a week.
Mr Bam said he is awaiting instructions from higher authorities from the state capital for forensic examination of the remnants and for recovery of the whole wreckage from the spot.

Army major remanded till June 24
Mumbai : An Army major arrested by the CBI in an alleged graft case was on Sunday remanded to the police custody till June 24.
The accused Major Dipendra Bhushan was arrested on Saturday by the anti-corruption wing of CBI for allegedly demanding Rs 50,000 as bribe from a candidate who wanted a job in the Army.
Bhushan, a doctor at the Army recruitment office in Colaba, was caught red-handed accepting Rs 10,000 from the candidate to issue a medical certificate that would get him a job of a soldier (technical), CBI said. The CBI officials laid a trap after the candidate filed a complaint. Bhushan was arrested along with his driver Bharat Oram while accepting the bribe amount. According to CBI, the duo has admitted to receiving illegal gratification from several other candidates. —PTI
