Seemandhra leaders are hatching new plot, says TRS
Hyderabad: The TRS on Thursday accused Seemandhra leaders of hatching new conspiracies and trying to whip up emotions to scuttle a favourable decision on Telangana by the Congress high command.
Similarly, CPI and CPM too accused the Congress of playing a diabolic game with a “double face” and an eye on the panchayat raj elections and said that it did not expect any decision on Telangana from the core committee meeting.
Lashing out at Congress MP Undavalli Arun Kumar’s comments in Rajahmundry, TRS deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao said that Arun Kumar was trying to create anarchy and stall Telangana.
“He spoke lies about the state. He is trying to whip up emotions among Seemandhra people and create unrest to halt the Telangana process. His fear that Telangana is a threat to national integrity is ill-founded,” Rao said.
and baseless. The demand for smaller states in other states was also unfounded and cited carving out three states by NDA Government,” Harish Rao said.
Dismissing Arun Kumar statement that Telangana should be carved out only after a consensus, he reminded whether he had obtained consensus of tribals in the construction of Polavaram project.
â?o Arun Kumar thundered that if anyone stopped Polavaram project they would be shot but changed tune later after protests from tribals. Did he or government obtained consensus of tribals who have been displaced due to the project,â?Âasked.
Harish Rao said the Congress MP entire address at the public meeting was laced with sarcasm and aimed to create animosity between people of two regions and stall Telangana process.
CPM leader, B V Raghavulu and CPI leader, Narayana said Congress was trying all its tricks up its sleeves to win the panchayat polls by dishing out Samaikhya Andhra and Telangana missiles in both regions.
â?oIf Congress will be destroyed in the State if it tries to take people for a ride. Unless Sonia Gandhi comes out and gives clarity the party will not survive,â?ÂNarayana said.
Seemandhra leaders confused, Telangana leaders calm
Telangana Congress leaders are confident that a decision will be taken in favour of a separate state, while Seemandhra Congress leaders are unsure whether a final decision will be made on Friday.
The core committee is to discuss the road maps given by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha.
Seemandhra leaders who are in Delhi are making a final attempt to stave off the state’s bifurcation. They have been meeting AICC members who are in the core committee and submitting their own assessments of a divided state.
Both Telangana and Seemandhra Congress leaders agree that Singh's recent statements confirm that the high command has decided in favour of Telangana statehood.
PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana said that personally he is in favour of a united state, but he and every Congress leader and worker will abide by the decision of the party's central leadership.
But Seemandhra Congress leaders are not in such a forgiving mood. They warned that a decision to bifurcate the state will create a law and order problem in the Seemandhra region.
In an interesting reversal of roles, the pro-Telangana supporters are maintaining calm while people from the Seemandhra region are conducting rallies, dharnas and have given a call for a Seemandhra bandh on Friday.
