Seemandhra staff must go, says KCR
Hyderabad: TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday dropped a bombshell stating that Andhra officials working in Telangana would have to go after the bifurcation.
Speaking at a felicitation function organised by TNGOs, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said, “There will be no options (given to employees to choose cadres of either state).
They will have to leave. After all, the Andhra government will also have to function.” He added that Telangana employees would get promoted to the vacancies arising out of shifting Andhra employees.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s comments were widely condemned as they are against the basic principle the Centre applies for cadre allotment for state employees at the time of division.
The Department of Personnel and Training clearly states that “the broad principle of allocation of state cadre employees which inter alia include allocation first by ‘option’, followed by ‘domicile’ (home district) and lastly by inclusion of ‘junior-most’ personnel in the reverse order of seniority”.
The TRS chief’s comments have thus added fuel to the ongoing agitations in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
