He said Sankar would be handed over to Tamil Nadu after prosecution for the murders and rapes he had committed in Karnataka.
Police suspect Sankar had committed about 30 rape-murders in several districts of Tamil Nadu and other states too.
A married man with three little girl children, he was working as a mini-bus driver when he allegedly committed his first murder in 2008, that of 32-year old wife of a policeman with whom he was having an affair.
His wife Parameswari, 30, however, insisted that Sankar was innocent and was framed by the police.
