Sex racket victim had scored seven `A' pluses
The girl pleaded before the police that her studies should not be affected due to the involvement in the case.
A minor girl found to be involved in the inter-state sex racket unearthed in the city a few days ago has an impeccable academic track record. A student of 10th standard in a reputed school in the city, the girl scored A-plus grades in seven subjects, a top official connected with the probe told DC on Friday.
The girl was reportedly forced into the sex trade by her mother, who is now in judicial custody.
The girl pleaded before the police that her studies should not be affected due to the involvement in the case as she wanted to purse higher education.
The police officials said that more than 50 prominent personalities from the city and neighbouring Malappuram and Kasargod had been named by the girls during questioning.
The police is cross checking with the cyber cell for telephone call records of these persons.
We hope to ascertain identities of these personalities within a week, the official said.
Police has already identified a prominent entrepreneur hailing from Valancherry in Malappuram as one of the regular customers of the racket. Ten people were arrested in connection with the case so far.
