Sexy means beautiful, ok: NCW chief

National Commission for Women chairperson Mamta Sharma, defining the word 'sexy' on Saturday, said girls should not take the word in the wrong way because “sexy means beautiful”.

Ms Sharma made the observation while addressing a seminar on women’s empowerment in Jaipur. “Sexy ka matlab hai beautiful lady (Sexy means beautiful lady). It is meant to be charming,” she said, adding, “But problems arise when such a word is taken in a different way.”

BJP state vice-president Suman Sharma criticised Ms Mamta Sharma, saying, “Her comments are demoralising for women and she should be removed from the NCW immediately if the Congress is sensitive towards the feelings of women.”
