Sharad wants caste in current census
The JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav on Tuesday criticised government’s decision to hold caste census in 2011 in place of incorporating the exercise in the ongoing census. Mr Yadav also stated that the Narendra Modi issue between the JD (U)-BJP is now behind them.
Speaking to reporters, Mr Yadav stated that it is a bad decision of the government to conduct another census after the completion of the ongoing exercise to count caste. The JD(U) chief, who was on the forefront among the leaders to demand for caste census in the Parliament, stated “the Cabinet decision on caste census is very bad”.
“The government has decided to conduct another census after the completion of the ongoing census in order to count caste. Our party is against this decision,” said Mr Yadav.
He stated the government would incur an expenditure of about `2,000 crores for 2011’s caste enumeration.
