Shehla case: CBI conducts lie test on BJP MLA again
The CBI on Saturday conducted a lie-detector test on Dhruv Narayan Singh, a BJP MLA from Bhopal, in connection with the Shehla Masood murder case. The role of the BJP MLA is under the scanner of the agency because of his alleged closeness with Zahida Parvez, a Bhopal-based interior designer and a prime suspect in the case.
According to sources, Mr Singh arrived at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) with the CBI officials for his lie-detector test at around 11.30 am and remained there for nearly four hours. An earlier lie-detector test on Mr Singh on March 19 could not be completed because of continuos fluctuation in his blood pressure.
Sources said the agency sleuths asked him a series of questions related to his purported relationship with Masood and suspect Zahida, besides whether he knew about the murder plan allegedly hatched by the latter. During the test, Mr Singh is understood to have denied all the allegations against him.
The probe by the agency has already revealed that Zahida had allegedly very close relations with the MLA, to the extent of obsession, and resented his closeness with Masood. The agency had also recovered a personal diary from the residence of Zahida. “From her diary, CBI officials had come to know of several instances where Zahida had noted down her feelings for Mr Singh and growing resentment for Masood,” sources said. Masood was murdered on August 16, 2011 outside her house in Koh-e-Fiza locality in Bhopal.
Sources said the agency has not given a clean chit to Mr Singh. He was asked specific questions related to his more than 25 telephonic conversations with Zahida, they said. If required, the agency officials may call Mr Singh again for the lie-detector test.
