Shilpa: I’m brand, Kundra has stake

New Delhi, April 26: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty on Monday made it clear that she was the brand ambassador of the Rajasthan Royals IPL team and her husband Raj Kundra a stakeholder.
Shetty tried to dispel confusion about the ownership of the Jaipur-based outfit after BCCI president Shashank Manohar raised doubts about the side’s ownership.

Mr Manohar, who suspended IPL chairman Lalit Modi late on Sunday via email, said that the stakeholders’ register did not carry the names of either Shilpa Shetty or Raj Kundra. “Woke up and heard on TV that we are not co-owners of Rajasthan Royals. Only want to say there is ‘No Doubt’ that Kundra is a stake holder and I am the brand ambassador,” Shetty wrote on her Twitter page.

“This is the truth! Dunno why all this confusion. Will have clarity on a lot of things by tomorrow,” she added.
The BCCI chief also accused Mr Modi of irregularities in the initial bid for the Royals, who won the inaugural edition of the Twenty20 tournament in 2008.
