Shiv Sena writes to PM over ban on onion export

Shiv Sena has written a letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, asking him to lift the ban on the export of onions.

"As the onion farmers are suffering losses due to the ban, we have written to the Prime Minister, demanding that ban be lifted," said Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.

He also alleged that 20 tons of onions were rotting in the Mumbai docks.

Raut also said that Shiv Sena would intensify its agitation if the ban was not lifted.
