Shun anti-social Jagan, says Kiran Kumar Reddy
The Congress cadres in Tirupati, who have had a lacklustre election campaign, have been energised by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s impressive road shows and his strong criticism of YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Addressing a huge turn-out of supporters, the Chief Minister, for the first time, came down heavily on Jagan, accusing him of having criminal links and having no right to remain in public life. People should shun such 'anti-social elements', he said.
Attacking Jagan has been a marked feature of all his road shows. “In order to cover up his economic offences and transactions, he floated a party and turned a power monger. There are reports that he has links with criminals and illegal arms sellers,” the CM said.
He also refuted Jagan’s statement that his caste was poverty, referring to his palatial residences with 'multiple bedrooms' in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. “I am unable to understand why an individual should have so many bed rooms,” he said.
The CM played the religious card when he made a reference to Mr Jagan’s recent visit to the Tirumala temple, where he omitted to sign the mandatory declaration about his allegiance to the deity.
“It is our duty to protect the sanctity of Tirumala and the sentiments of Hindus. We have been doing it since generations. We all should condemn such acts which deride our faith,” Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said.
