Siachen expedition in Sept.
A high-altitude trekking expedition in the Siachen glacier, the world’s highest battleground, is being organised by the Army in September this year. The personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force and cadets from the RIMC and military schools from across the country will be joined by 10 media persons in the 26-day long adventure beginning on September 1, officials here said on Sunday.
They added that the media persons will be selected on the basis of their certain proviso and for that they have to fulfil mandatory forms to be furnished to the concerned authorities by July 17. While the selected volunteers will have to travel to Leh, the base-camp, on their own, the Army will extend logistic support including clothing, food, accommodation and technical equipment required.

Two Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) terrorists, including one self-styled local commander, were on Sunday eliminated by the security forces in two separate encounters in Rajouri and Kishtwar districts in Jammu region.
