SM Krishna set to campaign in Mandya tomorrow
Mandya: The hatchet appears to have been buried, at least for the time being, as former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna is all set to campaign in Mandya on August 16.
The continuing rift between him and housing minister M.H. Ambareesh had put a question mark on his participation in the campaign, but all speculation was put to rest on Wednesday as both his supporters and those of the actor-politician came together at a public function in Maddur taluk.
Mandya district Congress president, Atmananda, who has stayed away from the campaigning so far, shared the dais with Ambareesh.
When the crowd wanted to know why Krishna was not actively participating in the campaigning , he said he was supposed to attend Wednesday's public functions in Maddur, Malavalli and Srirangapatna, but had to be in Delhi as the Congress party had issued a whip for all MPs to be present in view of the Food Bill being tabled in both Houses of Parliament.
"But he (Krishna) will campaign on August 16. He is our tallest leader in the state and is from Mandya district,” he said.
Meanwhile, former JD(S) MLA, Kalpana Siddaraju, joined the Congress at the Maddur function after Siddaramaiah paid her a visit earlier in the day.
