Sohrabuddin case: CBI in Sabarmati jail to question Shah
Ahmedabad, Jul 28: CBI officials today questioned former Gujarat minister Amit Shah, arrested in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, in the Sabarmati jail here following a court order.
The court on a CBI application had given permission to the investigating agency to question Shah inside the jail from July 28 to 30.
CBI officer Amitabh Thakur and other officials along with their lawyer are part of the team constituted to quiz the former Minister of State for Home, who resigned from the Narendra Modi government on Saturday.
On a request from Shah, the court had ordered audio-video recording of interrogation by CBI. The agency has also taken videographers with them inside the Sabarmati jail.
Shah is lodged in Tilak barrack of the jail after he was arrested by the CBI in the fake encounter case of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and killing of his wife Kausarbi in 2005 on Sunday.
