Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team probing the solar scam has received the statement given by scam victim Sreedharan Nair of Konni under section 164 of CrPC in the Konni court.
SIT sources said that a decision on getting the statement of the Chief Minister would be taken after a preliminary investigation into Sreedharan Nair’s statement that he met Oommen Chandy at his office on July 9, 2012 along with Saritha S. Nair.
The Chief Minister will be arraigned in the case only if there is sufficient evidence that he colluded with the cheating. Anyway, the Chief Minister would be a witness in the case.
“CM's personal staff member Joppan was arraigned in the case not only for meeting Saritha, but for wooing  Sreedharan Nair to invest in the solar panel trade even after knowing the dubious history of Saritha,” police sources point out.
Meanwhile, solar scam accused and actor Shalu Menon and the prime accused Biju Radhakirshanan were interrogated together by the Special Investigation Team on Tuesday night. This was to clarify certain conflicts in the statements given by the two.
Shalu was produced before the court on Wednesday and remanded in judicial custody till July 20. Her bail plea will be considered on Thursday.
Police suspect that the name of a London based firm was used for the fictitious firm to mislead the victims of the fraud. Biju had even sent an e-mail enquiry to the London firm Team Solar seeking the scope of getting a franchise of the firm. However, the London firm did not respond to the offer.
The police took Biju to various parts of Tamil Nadu to collect evidence. Saritha was sent to police custody till Friday in a solar cheating case at Pathanamthitta.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
