Somaiya gives fresh ‘evidence’
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya on Tuesday presented new documents to support his allegations of corruption against NCP ministers Chhagan Bhujbal and Sunil Tatkare.
Relying on documents collected through RTI, he claimed that a partner of the chartered accountancy firm that audited balancesheets of companies owned by Mr Tatkare’s family, was also a partner in one of the companies owned by the state minister’s son. He also claimed that Mr Tatkare was Maharashtra’s Robert Vadra.
The BJP leader further pointed out that on July 12, the director-general, ACB, had sent a report with respect to PWD minister Mr Bhujbal’s involvement in Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi.
Dr Somaiya pointed out that there was no further action taken on the ACB’s report or against Mr Tatkare. “The CM has issued orders to make inquiry against officials. But why is there no inquiry against the ministers?” asked the former MP. Dr Somaiya also released papers related to the Krishna Basin project and accused another minister Ramraje Nimbalkar of indulging in corrupt practices.

‘Will write 100 more letters for farmers’
Gadchiroli (Mahara-shtra), Oct. 8: BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said he had done nothing wrong by writing a letter to the Centre regarding release of funds for an irrigation project in Maharashtra.
“I did it in the interest of the farmers and have nothing to do with the interest of contractors. I will write 100 such letters,” he said. Mr Gadkari was addressing a farmers’ rally at Desaiganj in Naxal-hit Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region.
The BJP chief, who hails from Nagpur in Vidarbha, courted controversy last week over a letter he wrote to the Centre seeking release of funds for an irrigation project, Gosikhurd, in which an associate of his is said to be a contractor.
