Sonia should file case, says Vaidya
RSS ideologue M.G. Vaidya on Saturday urged Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to file a defamation suit against former RSS chief K.S. Sudarshan for using defamatory language against her.
Mr Vaidya, in fact, asked the Congress chief that she should take these remarks against her seriously and should “initiate legal action, be it criminal defamation or civil defamation”, against Mr Sudarshan.
The BJP, meanwhile, asked the Congress to ask its cadres to stop attacking RSS offices. The latest issue of Sangh’s mouthpiece, Organiser, mentions nationwide protest by the RSS against the Congress leadership to “defame” it by linking it to “saffron terror” but there is no mention of its former chief’s remarks.
The RSS had expressed regret over its former chief’s statements against the Congress chief by saying that it was not the Sangh’s view. The BJP had also associated with the RSS on the issue.
Mr Vaidya was of the view that since the serious charges by Mr Sudarshan were not against the Congress or the UPA government but against her, the Congress chief should knock the doors of court of law.
The street demonstrations and burning of effigy of the former RSS chief will not do but the best option is to drag him to court, Mr Vaidya felt.
The BJP, on the other hand, asked the Congress to put a stop to attacks on RSS offices by its workers protesting against Mr Sudarshan’s remarks. It warned the Congress that failure to do so would lead to nationwide agitations on the 2G spectrum, CWG and Adarsh Housing Society scams.
“We are giving a stern warning to the Congress that if it continues with its violence and anarchy in spite of all clarifications by the BJP and the RSS, which remained calm even after Congress leaders equated the RSS with Simi, we will launch a nationwide agitation to expose the Congress on 2G spectrum, Adarsh scam and CWG issues,” BJP spokesperson Tarun Vijay said.

raipur
Nov. 13: The police here on Saturday registered a case against former RSS chief K.S. Sudarshan under Section 155 (liability of person for whose benefit riot is committed) for his recent alleged derogatory remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, following a complaint by the Congress leaders here.
The police, however, reportedly declined to add non-bailable sections in the case on the plea that the issue did not come under the purview of the City Kotwal police station.
