Sonia to visit Jammu, but skip Srinagar
Congress president Sonia Gandhi will not be going to Srinagar during her visit to Jammu & Kashmir.
The visit was earlier scheduled on May 29 to lay the foundation stone of a re-settlement colony for Dal Lake dwellers.
Sources, while giving no specific reasons, disclosed that the decision to cancel the visit was taken on late Wednesday night.
She, however, will continue with her visit to Jammu where she would be inaugurating a tribal cultural centre of the Gujjar community and also address a rally, as sources said, her Jammu programme “stands as of now”.
During Mrs Gandhi’s visit, she will be accompanied by minister of state in Prime Minister’s Office and in-charge of the state Prithviraj Chavan and health minister Gulam Nabi Azad.
