Soren claims UPA deal, BJP insists resign today
The BJP demanded late Sunday night that JMM supremo Shibu Soren resign as Jharkhand chief minister by Monday, with the tieup between the two falling apart. A BJP delegation will submit a letter to state governor M.O.H. Farook on Monday morning withdrawing support.
In another surprise, the JMM chief claimed he had already got an offer to re-enter the Union Cabinet in return for the JMM continuing to head the government in Ranchi with UPA support.
The BJP might announce its move after a parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday. All JMM MLAs have, meanwhile, been asked to reach Ranchi on Monday to meet Mr Soren.
