Speaker meet fails, logjam continues
New Delhi, Nov. 30: The Lok Sabha Speaker, Ms Meira Kumar’s all-party meeting on Tuesday failed to end the deadlock in the Parliament over demands for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the alleged 2G spectrum allocation scam, as both sides — the Centre and the Opposition — refused to budge from their stated positions.
At the meeting, which lasted for about two-and-a-half hours, the finance minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, rejected the Opposition’s demand for a JPC probe.
Earlier, Parliament was adjourned for 13th day on Monday.
