Special prayers at Tawang monastery
As search operations launched by both men and machines failed to trace Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu even on Sunday, his family and well-wishers has started a special prayer at Tawang monastery for his safe return.
His four wives and five children have also reached Itanagar where hundreds of people gathered since morning in anticipation of getting some good news.
While one of his wives was in New Delhi, two are in Arunachal Pradesh, and one was waiting at the Guwahati airport in Assam along with two children.
Though, all of them refused to talk, Mr Nabam Tuki, a senior minister in the Dorjee Khandu Cabinet accompanying them, said, “We can understand the state of the mind of the family. In fact a mass prayer has been organised across the state praying for his safe return.”
Meanwhile, two Union ministers Mukul Wasnik and V. Narayansami reached Itanagar and coordinated the search operations, which was carried out despite the inclement weather condition of the state.
The mystery also shrouded over the telephone call, which forced Arunachal Pradesh governor J.J. Singh to declare safe landing of Pawan Hans copter in eastern Bhutan on Saturday.
The principal secretary of chief minister Dorjee also claimed to have received a phone call about the safe landing of the copter but failed to identify the caller.
