India had recieved specific intelligence inputs warning of terror strikes by Al Qaeda and LeT during the Delhi Commonwealth Games, prompting security agencies to throw an additional blanket of security at CWG venues and hotels. According Western intelligence agencies’ inputs, intercepts indicated a frontal attack may be carried out on Games venues and a five-star hotel on October 12 and 13 along the lines of the 26/11 Mumbai carnage.
