Spray chilli water on police raids: CPM's Jayarajan to party workers
CPM Kerala secretariat member M.V. Jayarajan has exhorted party workers to retaliate with chilli water if police came to raid the houses of party workers. “Not only chillies, reserve the rolling pin and a sharp knife, used for slicing fish. They'll be handy weapons against the marauders.”
Addressing a protest march to the office of the ASP at Thalipparamba on Tuesday, Jayarajan said the police working as handmaidens of the IUML should be treated with chilli water.
The march was in protest against alleged torture of party workers arrested in connection with the Abdul Shukoor murder case.
“Chilli water is not a weapon,” he said, and pointed out that A.K. Gopalan had advised housewives during the Emergency to use chilli water against police raids.
CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan inaugurated the protest march. Meanwhile, Thaliparamba police registered a case against around 500 men including M.V. Jayarajan and P. Jayarajan for blocking traffic.
Apart from this, Kannur Town police registered a case against P . Jayarajan for threatening and intimidating the police on Monday.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, he had said the City Police station had become a concentration camp and Kannur DySP P. Sukumaran and Valapatanam circle inspector U. Preman were leading the team that tortured the people arrested in the murder of Abdul Shukoor.
