Srini cost BCCI Rs 10,000cr: Bindra
Fresh documents uploaded on Twitter by Punjab Cricket Association chief I.S. Bindra have claimed that sidelined BCCI president N. Srinivasan had caused a loss of `10,000 crores to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
“BCCI is as usual in fixing game... trying to fix Lalit Modi to cover up the exposure of 10,000 crores”, the veteran sports administrator posted on the microblogging website on Thursday, and also posted a link to an exhaustive 37-page document giving a detailed breakup of the loss in conducting five seasons of the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
Stung by the former BCCI chief making public deeply embarassing and confidential documents, particularly relating to steps and decisions taken by Mr Srinivasan, it is learnt that the cricket board is considering “expelling” him.
Mr Bindra, a former BCCI chief, may face the axe as early as on September 25, at the special general meeting in Chennai, Mr Srinivasan’s hometown, where the sidelined BCCI chief is expected to push for a return to the chair ahead of board elections. How the revelations by Mr Bindra will affect his chances is, however, another matter.
