Hyderabad: The much talked about meeting between senior Telangana minister K. Jana Reddy and AICC in-charge general secretary Digvijay Singh that was scheduled for Saturday didn’t materialise finally.
Now the meeting between the two has been scheduled for June 30, when Singh visits the state. He also suggested that  Jana Reddy, along with a delegation of Telangana Congress leaders, could meet him on that day.
Party insiders said Jana Reddy and the delegation of Congress leaders were miffed with Singh that he refused to see them in Delhi despite giving them a prior appointment for Saturday. The appointment had been sought to discuss the issue of statehood for Telangana.
They expressed surprise that Singh refused to see them despite the fact that the appointment had been sought before June 30, when the Telangana Congress leaders were supposed to organise a public meeting in favour of the statehood issue.
When contacted,  Jana Reddy said he and his supporters were currently busy making arrangements for the June 30 public meeting. “However, if Digvijay Singh comes to Hyderabad on that day, we will definitely meet him and apprise him about the situation,” Jana Reddy told this correspondent on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in a related development, former PCC chief and MLC D. Srinivas on Saturday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and discussed with her the latest political situation in AP in context of the Telangana statehood issue.
Srinivas, however, refused to comment on his meeting with Gandhi. Speculations though are rife that he either will replace Botsa Satyanarayana as PCC president or will be made chairman of the Telangana Development Council, which is likely to be offered by the Centre to deal with the contentious Telangana issue.
However, sources close to Srinivas denied such reports and insisted that a creating a separate state of Telangana alone would help resolve the issue.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
