STF detains 14-year-old boy in connection with Delhi HC blast

One week after a bomb blast rocked New Delhi, killing 13 persons outside the Delhi High Court, the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police on Wednesday detained a 14-year-old boy for sending two hoax e-mails.

The teenaged prankster, who has been identified as Sunny Shukla, is believed to be a resident of Jharkhand's Pakur town.

According to reports, he posed as a member of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) group in the mails that he sent to media houses and claimed responsibility for the blast outside the Delhi High Court.

Additional Commissioner of Police, STF, Rajiv Kumar told mediapersons here that Shukla confessed before the police that his mails were a part of a prank.

"Sunny Shukla, who is studying is ninth class and who according to his parents is a brilliant student, sent the e-mails with an intent of mischief. He has admitted to it. He gave us the passwords of the e-mail ids to us," said Kumar.

"We opened the account with the password given to us and we found those two e-mails in the e-mail's outbox. He also confessed this before his parents," he added.

The police has slapped charges under IT section 66A, 66B and 257A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against him.

Terror struck Delhi when a powerful bomb placed in a briefcase ripped through a crowded reception area at the entrance of the Delhi High Court on September 7 killing 13 people and leaving more than 80 injured.

The blast occurred around 10:15 a.m. outside Gate Number 5 close to the reception area, where visitors had lined up for entry passes.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
