Student, aunt found murdered
A nursing student of the IAF and her aunt were found murdered at Batanagar in South 24 Parganas on Tuesday evening. The victims were Antara Naha, 23 and her aunt Shibani Dey.
The local residents, however, did not hear any scream during the double murders which took place at the Dashampally area. Even the household items were found intact. Antara had recently returned home on a month’s leave from her college in Bengaluru.
Antara’s mother Sandhya Naha was not at home during the killings. When she returned, she found the bodies lying in a pool of blood. Multiple stab injuries were found on the bodies. A dagger with blood stains was also recovered from the room. A ticket of Sealdah-Budge Budge local train and a food bill of a Chinese restaurant were found from Antara’s purse. On Wednesday, a forensic team visited the house and collected the samples for examination.
Ms Naha alleged that Santosh, a youth from central Kolkata, was involved in the twin murders. He is absconding. Antara had an affair with Santosh which she severed before joining the IAF’s nursing college, the police has learnt. Still the youth used to pester her, an officer revealed.
Meanwhile, a MBA graduate, who was missing since April 25, was found dead at Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas on Wednesday morning.
The deceased, Ravindra Sharma, 30, a resident of Sakherbazar in Haridevpur had left home on April 25 morning for an interview at a company in Salt Lake. Since then, he remained untraced.
