Student biker hits Munde’s daughters, held

A student was arrested for reckless driving after he rammed his bike into daughters of BJP leader Gopinath Munde in Worli late on Friday.
According to the Worli police, MLA Pankaja Munde and Dr Pritam Munde had stepped out to visit their cousin Poonam Mahajan, daughter of BJP’s late leader Pramod Mahajan, at around 11.45 pm on Friday.
They were just a few metres away from their residence in Poorna Apartments on Sir Pochkanwala Road in Worli, when a motorcyclist suddenly swerved towards them when they were approaching their car, which was parked nearby.
“The motorcyclist was driving at high speed and knocked down both the women. The car driver, who was standing close by, rushed forward and caught hold of the motorcyclist. The driver then alerted Mr Munde, and the women were rushed to Leelavati Hospital,” said an officer with the Worli police station.
Pritam, who is Mr Munde’s youngest daughter, has sustained serious injuries to her head, stomach and legs and is currently admitted in the intensive care unit.
