Supporters throng camp site

Thousands of supporters of yoga guru Baba Ramdev are pouring into the capital to lend their support to the proposed satyagrah against corruption at Ramlila Ground.

Chanting bhajans, dancing, and raising slogans against corruption, the supporters of the cause have spread their backpacks prepared for a long stay at the satyagrah.
With their frugal belongings of clothes and other daily necessities several women and children can be seen amongst the crowds of several thousands which has gathered under the pandals at the Ramlila Ground.
Most of the people have not booked their return journey as they want to stay with Baba till his demands are conceded to.
“We will stay with Baba Ramdev till the last breath of our life. We are here to be with him for such a noble cause. We are not worried about our jobs, our families, or even ourselves. Only the fate of our country worries us,” Vijayan, a trader from Kunnoor district of Kerala said.
Shanti, 85, from Muzzaffarnagar has offered all her assets to Baba Ramdev. ``I have come here to support my son Ramdev. He has devoted all his life for the country, how can I sit at home”. Holding a poster of Baba Ramdev, several of them continually raising slogans against corruption and seeking a tougher punishment for the guilty.
Several placards with slogans like “Anna ko diya dhokha, Baba nahin denge Mauka’ and ‘Baba Ramdev ka yog, mitayega bhrashtachar ka rog”.
The organisers have tried to provide all possible basic amenities to the people who continue to pour into the satyagrah venue.
Special screens have been erected at strategic locations so that people across the pandal can view the Baba clearly.
The Delhi police has also on its part provided additional security to the venue and metal detectors have been installed at all the entrances.
Proper frisking of people is also being done and additional paramilitary forces deployed at the venue.
