Surcharge on power bills condemned
Nellore: YSR Congress leader and Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said that the inefficiency of the state government led to the burden of surcharge on power bills.
Addressing party men during a dharna against surcharge on power bills before the APSPDCL office here on Wednesday, he dwelt at length on the lopsided and anti-people policies of the Congress government.
He reminded that former CM YSR had not enhanced power tariff even once during his regime and managed the situation with aplomb.
Stressing that power bills are more than the house rents, he expressed surprise over the government proposal to hike the power tariff even after imposing heavy dose of surcharge.
“Although same ministers, who were in Dr YSR cabinet, are continuing now but they are bent upon taxing the people. Absence of Dr YSR is sole reason for heavy burden on people of the state,” the MP alleged.
Mr Rajamohan Reddy asserted that only Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy can address the present crisis situation in the state while predicting landslide victory to YSR Congress whenever elections are held.
He said that the party will secure more than 210 Assembly seats and 35 Parliament seats whenever elections are held while pointing to the popularity of Jagan among masses. He maintained that YSRC will be a key player both in state and national politics after the elections.
Mr Rajamohan Reddy advised the state government to rollback the surcharge and warned that YSRC would continue agitations till state stopped fleecing people.
