Swamy to file criminal complaint
Janata Party chief Subramanium Swamy on Tuesday stated on Tuesday that he was planning to file a criminal complaint agai-nst former telecom minister A. Raja on charges of corruption for his role in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
Mr Swamy stated that he would seek the prosecution of Mr Raja within the next 10 days. “I would locate the designated anti-corruption court to file a criminal complaint against Raja. Various provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) entitle me to add names of other suspects,” he added.
He stated that the Supreme Court has already expressed its displeasure over the government’s failure in initiating action against Mr Raja. “The Supreme Court has asked the PM and the government to explain why action was not initiated against Raja despite the material evidence that I had sent to the PMO. I have written six letters to the PMO till date indicating former minister’s acts of omission and commission in the scam,” the Janata Party chief said. He stated that his the first letter to the PMO was sent on November 20, 2008, followed with five more letters.
