Swamy: i have important document
The Supreme Court allowed Janata Party president Subramaniam Swamy to place the crucial documents on record as part of his petition seeking a direction to CBI to investigate the role of P. Chidambaram in “fixing” the 2G price at much lower level.
“I have got an important document, I may be allowed to place it on record,” Mr Swamy told the bench, which granted the permission with a direction to him to supply its copy to the government’s special counsel P.P. Rao and CBI lawyer K.K. Venugopal.
The note gave details how 2G spectrum issue was discussed by Mr Chidamabaram and Mr Raja and various officials of department of telecom and finance ministry from November 29, 2007 onward when it was brought to the notice of the finance minister by DoT. It also has referred to January 15, 2008 meeting of telecom commission, in which the representative of DEA had not made any “intervention” to suggest the entry fee for spectrum.
