Swamy moves to sue MK
Chennai, Feb. 7: The Janata party president, Dr Subramaniam Swamy, on Monday sought sanction from the Governor, Mr S.S. Barnala, to prosecute the CM, Dr M. Karunanidhi, for allegedly allotting government land to a “favoured few” under the discretionary quota in violation of rules.
This is the second salvo that Dr Swamy has fired at Dr Karunanidhi, after petitioning the SC accusing the DMK chief of involvement in the 2G scam.
The CM responded by sending a legal notice to Dr Swamy on Sunday threatening criminal action if he failed to retract the allegation within 24 hours. Dr Swamy claimed on Monday morning that he had not received the notice.
With the Governor declining time to meet him, Dr Swamy handed over his petition to the ADC outside the Raj Bhavan gates, declaring to the mediapersons there that he expected a quick response, just as the Karnataka Governor, Mr H.R. Bharadwaj, did in the case of Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa.
