T-3’s full ops begin today
The new integrated Terminal-3 at the New Delhi IGI airport will witness the start of continuous international operations from Wednesday evening, with the arrival of an Air India flight from New York at 4.45 pm. However, domestic operations will begin from the T-3 only from August 27.
Till now, international operations were conducted at the IGI airport from the Terminal-2. But from 7.30 pm on Wednesday, operation of all international flights will cease from T-2 and shift to the new T-3. Before 4.45 pm on Wednesday, all international flights will operate from the T-2. Between 4.45 pm and 7.30 pm on Wednesday, both T-2 and T-3 will witness operation of international flights during the transition.
The first international departure of a flight from the T-3 on Wednesday will again be that of an Air India flight to Dubai that will take off from the T-3 at 6.50 pm. DIAL, the operators of the New Delhi IGI airport, announced that Wednesday (July 28) had been chosen as the transition day for start of continuous international operations from T-3 since there is least amount of flight activity between 2 pm to 7.30 pm on Wednesday. “Proving” flights to test the operational preparedness of the T-3 had already been operated from the T-3 on July 14 and 15.
