Tamil radicals hand suspected in K-protests
The arrest of two Tamil separatists in the struggle against the Koodankulam nuclear power plant has brought to light the involvement of Tamil radical elements in the ongoing movement.
Satheesh Kumar, 30, of Omanur, Salem was picked up by the ‘Q’ branch police on Friday in Palayamkovttai when he participated in the anti-KKNPP demonstration led by Vaiko, MDMK general secretary and Seeman, founder of the Naam Tamilar Iyakkam.
Another Tamil separatist, Vanni Arasu, spokesperson of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), was arrested at Rajapalayam when he was on his way to Madurai on Friday after participating in the anti-KKNPP demonstration led by Vaiko.
This strengthens suspicion of the involvement of Tamil radical elements in the ongoing stir, said an IB official.
