Tatra wants to sue Army Chief

Chief of the Army Staff, General Vijay Kumar Singh, is set to face fresh trouble as the firm which manufactures Tatra trucks, has moved the ministry of defence for permission to prosecute the chief for making defamatory remarks.

The letter to Mr Shashi Kant Sharma, Secretary, MoD, a copy of which was released to Deccan Chronicle, written by Ms Elena Ustynovich, director, Tatra Sipox (UK) Ltd, says the General’s “false and unfounded allegations” during recent interviews to the media have harmed the reputation of the firm.

“As is evident from the record, Tatra only supplies trucks to Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) under license and hence Tatra has no reason or occasion to approach General V K Singh,” the letter states
