TDP gives PM 15 days on dam issue
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday issued an ultimatum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to resolve the Babli Project controversy within 15 days time or be ready to face a mass agitation led by the TDP.
TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, addressing the media after deliberating the issue in detail with his party colleagues said, “We ask the Prime Minister to sort out the problem in 15 days. Failure to do so, will lead us to take the issue to the people. There will be a mass agitation.”
Specifically targeting Dr Singh for completely being uninterested in solving the issue despite repeated appeals from his party and the people of Andhra. “I am asking the Prime Minister. What have you done in five years. The government of India is not bothered. There has to be a political solution to the issue. Whenever there is an inter-state dispute, the centre should intervene. Otherwise there is no meaning in having a central government,” he said.
