Teacher accused of removing student's skirt

The teacher of a school has been accused of removing the skirt of a Class 7 girl only because she was not wearing proper school uniform.

The parents of the girl lodged a written complaint at Gaighata police station. Angry guardians gheraoed the teacher for over two hours.

She later gave a written undertaking to the managing committee vowing never to repeat the offence again.

Sources said that the incident took place on Wednesday when a Class 7 student of Berigopalpur Adarsha High School in Gaighata wore a different skirt to school.

According to the guardians of the girl, she was reprimanded by geography teacher Bipasha Thakur who allegedly took off the 'wrong skirt' inside the classroom which comprised of boys too, in order to 'teach her a lesson'.
