Teacher arrested for molesting Class 8 girl

A 20-year-old teacher of a private Telugu school in Bhoodhan Pochampally near Film City was arrested by the Musheerabad police on the charge of sexually harassing an Class VIII student.

According to the police, S. Madhu Suresh began molesting the girl and told her if she complied he would take special classes for her and ensure that she gets good marks in her exam.

The girl complained to her parents about the harassment. The parents preferred to brush it all under the carpet and instead of complaining, sent the girl to stay with a relative in Ramnagar.

According to the police complaint of the girl’s uncle, Chandramohan, the girl was brought to Ramnagar, away from Madhu Suresh and the school, so that she could continue to study and forget what happened back in the village. She started studying in Class 8 at a private school in Ramnagar.

But the teacher followed her and began hanging around the school premises and tried to get her to sit on his bike and come away with him. After two days of this harassment, she complained about him to her parents, who finally approached the police.

Members of the girl's family tried to chase the teacher's bike on Wednes-day, but he managed to escape. However, they had the bike's number which was enough for the police to trace and arrest him at Nallakunta Nala.
Criminal cases have been booked against the teacher.
