Teacher breaks student’s ribs, attacks mother

A contract teacher working at the Gurukul School at Sadum, physically assaulted a Class VI student and broke his ribs on March 22. The incident came to light only on Thursday.

On March 22, the teacher punished 11-year-old Uday Kumar for not doing his homework. Some villagers saw the boy with a bleeding injury and confronted the teacher. But soon as the villagers left, the teacher kicked the boy on his chest for telling the villagers about the attack.

The boy, who was in pain, went home the next day. His parents took him to a hospital and the X-ray showed that Uday had a fracture in his ribs.

Uday’s parents then questioned the teacher. The teacher kicked the boy’s mother and fled the scene. The school has promised an inquiry.
