Teacher terror breaks kids’ hands in Andhra Pradesh
The ghastly incident of a pupil being forced to drink his own urine by a teacher in Anaparthi is still fresh in public memory, when two other incidents of harsh corporal punishment have come to light in Andhra Pradesh.
In one incident, the teacher of a private school in Indrapalem in Kakinada Rural Mandal, Ms B. Prasanna instructed the pupils to cover their books with thick brown sheets of paper. She allegedly caned nine-year-old Dadala Ajay who did not oblige on his left hand.
In the second case, an absence of two days from school earned Class IV student Koneru Shiva a fractured arm.
His teacher, J. Veerabhadraiah, beat the hand of the 10-year-old of the state-run DPEP school in Holagunda, Kurnool district, with a stick.
