Hyderabad: A 22-year-old software engineer working for Oracle India Private Limited allegedly jumped to her death from the seventh floor of a building at Madhapur on Tuesday afternoon.
Ashwini Nairy, a native of Bengaluru, jumped from Ananth Technologies Limited building at 12.10 pm and died of serious head injuries. A member of the housekeeping staff on the seventh floor tried to stop her, but failed. Madhapur police found a suicide note which stated that she was very depressed and no one was responsible for her death.
Ashwini  was depressed
The suicide note of Ashwini Nairy, who jumped to her death on Tuesday afternoon, stated, “I feel like dying repeatedly. This happens in a loop. If my life is all about thinking again and again about suicide and fighting it, there is no point in living it. I am going to die. I am sorry Amma, pappa and Adithi. Nobody is responsible for my death.”
Police investigations found that Ashwini had been suffering from chronic depression for two years. “She was undergoing treatment for depression for the last two years. She, along with her father, had met a doctor in Apollo hospital few months ago, and she had been taking medication. The doctor had suggested taking good care of her and not letting her stay alone,” said Madhapur assistant commissioner of police K. Ramnarsimha Reddy.
On completing her course at the National Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, Ashwini joined Oracle on June 24 this year. She was in a relationship with one of her college mates, police said. As she was about to jump, a member of the housekeeping staff on the seventh floor, Ashabi, called out to her and tried to convince her not to jump.
“But before I reached her, she jumped,” a shocked Ashabi told police. Inspector P. Narayana said Ashwini’s father Manjunath is a manager in Canara Bank in Bengaluru. On a complaint by her father, police has booked a case under CrPc Section 174 (death under suspicious circumstances). The body was sent to Bengaluru after the post-mortem.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
