Teen killer gets double life term
The Ernakulam CBI special court has awarded âdouble life imprisonmentâ to Anilmon Thomas of Palakkad for killing 14-year-old Ajil after subjecting him to unnatural, sex six years ago.
The court of magistrate Jose Thomas also imposed a fine of Rs70,000 on the accused. The judge held that the man âcannot claim any kind of remissionâ during the jail term. The sentence will run concurrently. The court held that the accused was not entitled to a remission of sentence.
Ajil was murdered on May 2006 in Malampuzha dam. The CBI Special court on Monday found Anilmon guilty in the 14-year-old Ajil murder case, and read out the sentence on Wednesday.
According to prosecution, Anilmon molested Ajil while he was on his way back ho-me from school. The accused was a temporary watcher at the forest department and he insisted on Ajil to consume toddy and later molested him.
During the molestation, Ajil fell unconscious and Anilmon dumped him in the dam assuming he had died. However, a post mortem revealed Ajil's death was due to drowning.
