Telangana report by month-end, says Azad
Senior Congress leader and Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said that the report on the Telangana statehood would be submitted by the end of this month, after which the Congress president would decide on
the statehood issue. He also declared that the process of consultations would continue not only within the party, but also outside and would be discussed even in the Cabinet. Meanwhile, 32 MLAs from the region belonging to the main Opposition TDP on Wednesday resigned from the state assembly in support of the demand for a separate state. It is for the second time that the TDP MLAs have sought to quit their seats in the legislature to press for Telangana after the Speaker rejected their resignations in July.
