Thousands answer Rahul call
Thousands of Congress office-bearers from all over the country started gathering at the Japanese Park in Rohini on Monday to witness the largest Indian Youth Congress convention after 2007. The delegates holding their ID
cards issued by the AICC were seen standing in long queues for security check. The Metro trains were also packed with the delegates heading towards the venue.
As Mr Rahul Gandhi arrived at the venue the delegates who were outside the venue rushed to the security check resulting in chaos for sometime. The office-bearers were seen excited over the meet.
“This has happened for the first time that such huge crowd of the Youth Congress gathered in one place. It happened just because of the call of Rahul Gandhi. The Youth Congress leaders from the interior areas of India will directly see their leaders for two days. Rahul Gandhi has given us a big opportunity,” said Amit Singh, IYC office-bearer from Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, some extraordinary clothing of some delegates drew the attention of the crowd. Nishant Mehra, a delegate from Delhi, reached the venue wearing a kurta painted in the colour and symbol of the Congress party.
