Tigress dies in Ranthambhore national park
A tigress who was operated upon for infection last week at the behest of a Rajasthan minister was found dead at Ranthambhore national park on Wednesday.
The tigress was operated last week for infection in anus and maggots after the state tourism minister Bina Kak noticed a swelling on the tigress and showed its pictures to the park authorities.
"The tigress was found dead this morning in Kundera range. She was operated on successfully on February, 3 and was feeding two 3-months-old cubs. She was under our monitoring and was sighted on Tuesday," Anand Mohan, field director, Ranthambore National Park, told PTI.
"Time of the death will be clear only after the postmortem report," he said.
During her trip to the park, Kak shot some pictures of the tigress and noticed the swelling and after that, the tigress was treated, Mohan said.
