TMC gets new start in Tripura

A major split in Congress marked the fresh beginning of the Trinamul Congress in Tripura with a promise to oust the Left Front from their last bastion in 2018 when the state will hold its next Assembly election and the immediate goal to emerge as the second political force in the state in 2014 Lok Sabha election.

“TMC president Ms Mamata Banerjee has approved the joining of the Congress deserters,” said Mukul Roy, general secretary of the party and also announced the formation of the new state committee giving prominence to the new comers.
The former PCC president Mr Surajit Datta has been appointed as president of the TMC state committee while the former minister Mr Ratan Chakraborty was appointed as chairman.
