TMC leader irked by colleagues’ remarks on sec
Voicing his displeasure over the belligerent attack launched by his party colleagues against the state election commission, West Bengal government chief whip Sobhandeb Chatterjee said that political leaders should exercise more restraint.
“Political leaders have a large number of followers therefore, it is their duty to exercise restraint and display grace even when criticising a constitutional body,” he added. This was the first time that a senior Trinamul Congress leader publicly articulated some unpalatable home truths. Mr Chatterjee did not name any leader. However, the message he tried to send was loud and clear: attacking a constitutional body like the state election commission was not in good taste.
