From today State free of power curbs
Thiruvananthapuram: Load-shedding, which has been in force since September 27, 2012, is being withdrawn completely. The remaining half-an-hour load-shedding in the evening will be lifted on June 16. The power curbs, which at one point stretched to two hours, were lifted in stages since the middle of April.
Load-shedding had begun with half-an-hour morning and evening cuts. KSEB withdrew the half-an-hour morning cut between 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on April 18. But then, the board institutionalised a one-hour continuous mid-day power cut (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) which was already in force unofficially.
