'Tomboy' woman attacked by public

A ‘tomboy’ woman, who was forcing a girl to have a relation with her, was beaten up by a crowd after she allegedly tried to abduct her in Vardhman Nagar.

25-year-old Mintu Chaudhary, who has a tomboyish lifestyle, was allegedly pressurising her 17-year old neighbour Mamata in Bhankrota locality to have a relation with her, police said on Sunday.

When Mamata's father came to know about this, he shifted her to another locality in the city so that Mintu, could not harass her.

However, Mintu, who had separated from her husband, later managed to get her address.

After a few days Mintu went to the area along with 3-4 boys and tried to kidnap Mamata in car while she was in a market with her mother.

As the mother-daughter duo cried for help, the locals thrashed Mintu and allegedly tore her cloths.

Next day, Mamata lodged an FIR against Mintu, police said, adding, that she was absconding now.

Mamata and her family members told investigators that Mintu came to their contact two years back when she shifted to the same locality.
